Anya's safe and predictable life as a kitchen servant in the palace of the High King is disrupted when she is given a new assignment: deliver a gift to the people of a far-off land. The gift contains a message that will help turn the tides in their battle against the darkness that threatens to overtake the land and the citizens of the kingdom who live there. Anya, and her faithful guide, Pari, a shaggy sheepdog, arrive in a strange land called Chicago with seven days to find the one who is waiting for the gift and willing to receive the call.
