Monti di San Lorenzo is a tiny Ligurian locality placed on Monte Caprione. In the two summer months of June and July, only at sunset and only for a short period of time, the sunlight filters through an internal passage with four boulders leaning against each other. That gap lets the sun rays pass, drawing the outline of a golden butterfly above a boulder placed in front of it, planted vertically on the ground. The phenomenon caused curiosity and imagination, triggering disparate hypotheses and interpretations about ghosts, elfs, mysterious but always romantic and positive creatures.
