This book explores the impact of hydropower dams on subtle, physio-chemical and biotic qualities of river water. It is suggested that water acts as a medium of transferring spiritual charges in the three major religions of the world-Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. It is shown that river waters carry spiritual charges and that these are damaged by hydropower projects. It is shown that even Run-of-River dams bring changes in subtle physic-chemical and biotic qualities of river water. Finally, it presents an alternative method of generating hydropower so that the qualities of water of the Ganga can be conserved.
