A Time for Withdrawal

The abstruse subject of spiritual withdrawal requires a comprehensive understanding of the nature of 'Fire', the raw foundational energy that facilitates spiritual development. According to the esoteric sciences the true nature of God is Fire, and as the roots of God lie within every being, understanding one's higher Self requires a process by which we come to grips with the nature of Fire.

When we refer to the act of withdrawal, we are talking about a practice that has been harnessed by Man for many hundreds of centuries, through which esoteric disciplines are engaged to sensitize the body so as to become 'en rapport' with the Soul. The personality and the Soul can meet. Meditation, withdrawal, the search for Fire, the search for spiritual value - all have meaning. Remember, when we talk about the act of withdrawal, we are talking about a person who has to let go of one world to grasp another. That is what we mean by withdrawal.

To withdraw fully, one must turn off the senses of the outer world, turn one's attention inwards and heighten inner sensory perception, to perceive, grasp and adopt the spiritual values of a different Kingdom. The process of aligning oneself with the Soul, of achieving Samadhi, of welcoming the inflow of Fire, of experiencing rapture and ecstasy, is one of withdrawal.
