Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (L891-1956), a born rebel, is the builder of modern India. As a radical humanist in his thought and action he rebelled against all the oppressive features of the Hindu society. He rebelled for four decades, even after his elevation as Member of the Viceroy's Executive Council against discriminations, indignities, injustices and tyrannies of Depressed humanity. He served the nation in the most difficult times in the history during the Second World War and war reconstruction days. The encyclopaedia discusses his struggle in life, education and fight for the depressed classes. It contains some of his early studies on caste system, speeches and RTC documents selected from the RTC proceedings, Gandhi ji 'correspondence on communal award, Poona Pact etc. All these papers and select documents depict Dr. Ambedkar's constant fight for social justice, equality, constitutional and political safeguards for the millions of ex-untouchables. It also contains his correspondence with the top administrators, leaders besides some of his speeches as a rebel national leader.
