"This book by Dr Shanker Adawal has clarified big time confusions that most astrology learners have. For example, does a yoga karaka planet give raj yoga like effects if it itself is in dusthanas in natal chart? This book answeres this unambigously in Chapter on 'Yogas'. In a superficial glance this book may seem just like others that teach predictive secrets (as in these facts are not publically highlighted in most available texts), but if read in depth and with underlining of such clarifications this book is a gem", says a reviewer.
The study of any horoscope is based on analyzing the Natal chart. It is important, as in any other science to start from the basics and the basic fundamentals should always remain the base. In this book the author has tried to explain the first principles which are important while making predictions and working on them.
Author has explained about certain planets such as Mars, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu which are usually the dreaded planets. Also have touched upon the predictive techniques while talking about financial prospects, education and marriage.
Maharshi Parasara has enunciated about various Raja Yogas coming cut of the 1st, the 4th, the 5th, the 9th and the 10th house lords as yogs karakas through the four planetary relationships mentioned by him. The factors which stand in the way of realisation of Raja Yogas, Amatya Yoga, etc., have been specified in this book. For excample, Yoga karakas are powerless in shadbala, dasavarga or shadavasthas. If the yoga karakas are powerless, the planetary mapping in the natal chart is a show without substance. A big confusion has been clarified in this Book: If the yoga karakas are posited in the 6th, 8th, 11th or 12th house, there is no Raja Yoga, because the yoga karakas have been spoiled by occupation of dusthanas, etc.
Consolidated Nakshatra i.e. Stellar characteristics and effects have been covered: "Take Asvini. Suppose at the time of birth Saturn is in it. Moon, of course, will also be there. Moon represents mind and Saturn represents sorrow. The combination of these two will be unpleasant and gives evil results. Suppose on the other hand, Jupiter or Venus or well associated Mercury is in it. Then the constellation becomes strong. If Saturn occupies Revati and Mars occupies Bharani, then Asvini will be between two evil planets and will become powerless to give good results, and as evil influences are close, it might even produce bad results." - Excerpt From 'Know About Predictive Techniques'
