The aim of the book is to supply a popular exposition of the Levitical rites and ceremonies, to trace their typical import and relations, and to set forth the great features of the Gospel as therein adumbrated by types of God's own choosing. It thus covers a field comparatively unoccupied, but one of much interest and importance. It professes to find in these divine appointments and directions a symbolic foreshowing of the whole plan of grace and salvation through Jesus Christ. — From the Preface
