In the present book, the author is going to high-lights the herbal healing practices used by the tribes of Manipur, in whole. The main objective of the text is to connect the folklore herbs with modern herbal practices with chemistry and pharmacology of the herb and ingredients. Many of the plants used by these communities for health care are not described in any ancient Indian scriptures (either Vedic or Samhitas or Nighuntos, etc.), even not found outside the region also. Many of these have not been chemically investigated until the time. Increased interests in natural products for sound-mind and health ailments, many studies are being conducted to identify the bio-actives from plants, to develop food supplements and medicines. Until recently, there has been fragmented information about the effect of folklore medicinal plants used by different tribes. The objectives of the present text are to reveal the great ancestral legacy as a source of new green medicines, as so far no other is available.
