We've become a world more concerned with how we appear than what kind of person we are. Being polite, politically correct and achieving status has replaced being real. And sadly people no longer seem to care how fake a person is being, as long as they are nice.

This is a tough time, with a lot of serious problems coming to the forefront. A polite smile and perfect manners are not what's going to get us past serious economic, social and humanitarian realities. Good manners are often used as something to hide behind in order to avoid confronting the hard things in life.
