Evidently, Palmistry differs from Astrology as a separate science or art, yet they are of the same calibre and nature and serve the same end. Like etching and drawing, or oil painting and water colouring, they differ in method and material, but both give the required picture and impression. Astrology helps the student to draw a general sketch of character and tendencies which are shared by multitudes of people born under the same Sign of the Zodiac, irrespective of sex, race, or social standard. Palmistry puts every human being in his proper place. Naturally, any group of men or women sharing the same qualities or talents widely differs in quality and quantity of these items.

This difference in quality and quantity of character and talents is responsible for the wide gap between careers, fortunes, success, and failure, recognized in the lives of people born in the same Sign. This difference can be easily fixed and limited by examining the hands. On examining the hands of different people, born in the same House, the student will notice the difference of quality and quantity in character, temperament, talents, etc., from the behaviour of the Main Lines, size and shape of the ruling Mounts and other parts of the hands.

The destiny and career of many people are influenced by foreign motives or factors such as living in foreign lands, marrying foreigners, dealing with overseas concerns or companies, etc. It will be difficult for Palmistry to recognise such people.
