Steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) for structures dates back to 1925, yet it remains largely unknown to many engineers and contractors. Essential information is often buried in codes, reports, and standards. This book presents the essential information required by engineers to utilize SFRC effectively, achieving superior results across a range of applications.

The focus is on its most common use in flat, horizontal cast in situ applications, such as ground-bearing slabs, ground-suspended slabs, suspended elevated slabs, and raft slab foundations for buildings, which present more opportunities than three-dimensional structures. Prefabrication and paving are discussed where they intersect with these main applications.
