Autobiography. At the age of 17 a 2-minute TV clip sparked my interest in Japanese archery (kyudo). Since I could not find any "real" (Japanese) teachers in Europe, I decided, I HAVE to go to Japan. At the age of 22 I traveled with a one-way ticket for the Trans-Siberian Express to Japan to fulfill my dream and ended up staying in Japan. Here I made licenses as an acupuncturist, moxibustion therapist and shiatsu practitioner with 38 years of clinical experience. Since 1995 (29 years) I also run one of the VERY few acupuncture clinics run by Westerners.

I chose to do in spite of the opposition from my parents, teachers, friends and other people what appeared "natural" to me and followed my way. For a long time people/patients asked me, why I do not write a book about my story, but I could not see, what people find interesting about it. Probably "my way" did not conform to common sense after all.

It is not a literary masterpiece, precise travel record or an in-depth study of Japanese culture. Just a description of what I did, saw and experienced along the way. Hopefully, my story offers nonetheless a little charm and entertaining reading.
