Sarah Newman liked the way she lived even though every man in town made fun of her for wearing boys' clothes, chasing cattle, and shooting a gun straighter than any of them ever wished they could. He would work hard for his family to give them the best life had to offer, and all he wanted in return was their love and an idealistic life he'd not had growing up a poor dirt farmer's son.

His life's plan was on track. At least, he'd thought it on track until he stopped in the sleepy little town of Moss Creek, Colorado on his way home from selling a stud horse in Denver. It was in this sleepy little town he would meet the exact opposite of any woman he'd ever thought he'd take as a wife. Yet. There was something about Sara that intrigued him.

A few drinks in the saloon and a wild bet with virtual strangers would indeed change both of their lives. Get one kiss from the little hoyden in boys togs, without a bloody nose of course, and he could ride out of town with a pocket full of earnings and a grin on his face.

Fate, however, did not feel that was enough of a kick in the pants for Wade.
