European Patent Law and Practice is intended as a work of general reference in day-to-day patent practice and it is therefore arranged in subject order so that the position in any given subject under the European Patents Convention and the member countries thereof can be readily ascertained.

There is an overview of European patent practice covering the European Patent Convention and the Conventions and Treaties which are relevant to European Patent Practice, a summary of the European Patents Convention, a description of the various kinds of patents followed by the events, in their natural sequence, that occur in obtaining patents in European Contracting States from filing through the examination, up to acceptance and grant, and the conventions and treaties which are relevant to European patent practice.

Also considered are the post-grant events, the terms of patents in various member countries, renewal fees, working, marking, and contributory infringement, as examples. Finally, the European Patents Convention, the implementing regulations, guidelines and case analysis are also included.

By issuing this new product in both a print and electronic version, LexisNexis will provide our customers with the most recent developments pertaining to European Patent Organization practice (i.e.: the European Patent Office (EPO)) and obtain a new customer base of domestic and international practitioners who frequently use and research these important statutes (i.e.: the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the European Patent Convention).
