In the profession of pharmacy, Industrial Pharmacy is an important area because it is a discipline that involves manufacturing, analysis (quality control), quality assurance, formulation development, marketing, and distribution of various drug products.
Accordingly, the students are supposed to understand the manufacturing and evaluation of different types of drug products. They should know why and how the preformulation studies are carried out. The syllabus has been designed by the Pharmacy Council of India to implement across the country. This has been expected that after completion of the subject the students are expected to know the various pharmaceutical dosage forms and their methods of manufacturing, various aspects of the development of pharmaceutical dosage forms, preparation, and evaluation of different types of solid, liquid, and semisolid dosage forms.
The book has been prepared with great care utilizing simple language so that the reader from any background can understand the concept easily.
The book has 10 chapters comprising the syllabus has been divided into 10 chapters–Preformulation studies, Tablet, Capsules, Pellets, Liquid orals, Aerosol products, Cosmetics, Parenteral Products, Ophthalmic products, Packaging Material Sciences.
Although the author has taken various steps to make the book error free, despite this if any mistake in spelling or in meaning is found, please do not hesitate to inform the author so that necessary corrective measures can be taken.
