This summary is clear and practical. It enable you to quick absorb the main ideas of a lengthy book in our time.
Charlie Reade seems to be an ordinary high school student who excels in football and baseball while maintaining a respectable GPA. But he is carrying a tremendous burden. When he was ten, his mother was murdered in a hit-and-run accident, and the tragedy pushed his father to start drinking. Charlie developed self-care skills, as well as those for his father. Charlie then meets Howard Bowditch when he is seventeen years old. Howard is a loner who lives at the top of a large hill with a large dog. There is a closed shed in the rear, and weird noises seem to be coming from there as if something is attempting to get out. When Mr. Bowditch passes away, he leaves Charlie the home, a sizable sum of wealth, a tape with an unbelievable tale, and a weight of duty that is simply too great for a youngster to bear.
Because the shed contains a gateway to another planet, whose inhabitants are in danger and whose horrible rulers threaten to destroy both their own and ours. In this alternate reality, where two moons race across the sky and the majestic towers of a vast palace pierce the clouds, there are exiled princesses and princes who endure horrifying punishments, dungeons, and games where men and women must battle it out to the death for the amusement of the "Fair One." There is also a magical sundial that has time-traveling abilities.
A tale as ancient as myth, Fairy Tale is as shocking and legendary as the rest of King's writing and tells the tale of an everyday man who is pushed by fate into the position of the hero. It is both very suspenseful and fulfilling.
