Journalism is competitive. Writing can be lonely. Being a woman who wants to write about football can be even more challenging. Opportunities can be few and far between, and there remains an attitude that it's not really a job for women.

This anthology of emerging women football writers defies all of that.

It gives a voice and a platform to 17 writers from 11 countries, following a global contest, ranging across player profiles, football development, the business of football, fiction, as well as uniquely personal stories.
