Hannah is a commoner and her family is poor. She has fantasized many times being married to a rich prince or wealthy duke who'd take her away from all her problems. As much as she dreamed about this, she knew it could not be possible because of her status in society.

Christopher is a prince. His father, although a second son, became the king after the first son married a commoner and forfeited his throne. Christopher had sworn that he would never be dragged into the mud by a woman. Until he met Hannah. Since it is obvious that he can't get her out of his head, and he cannot abandon his throne, he considers making Hannah his mistress if she'll accept. Hannah is a virtuous woman. She will never accept being Christopher's or any man's mistress. What will Christopher do?
