The wild and true story behind the 100-year-old tradition of the Calgary Stampede pancake breakfast — as told by the granddaughter of the legendary founder Wildhorse Jack. Yahoo! Signed copies will ship in early May.

Ideal for ages 4-7, this charming picture book has themes of sportsmanship, community spirit, and living life to the fullest.

Synopsis: When Frankie's dad loses every race at the Calgary Stampede, she's sad and frustrated. But when he celebrates by hosting a huge pancake breakfast the next morning, she's downright confused!

(Warning: Includes a larger-than-life cowboy, his wild antics, and his sassy pet badger Maggie. Don't try this at home, kids!)

Brenda Joyce Leahy is an author and retired lawyer who lives in Calgary. She was raised on a farm in southern Alberta with stories about her colourful grandfather, Wildhorse Jack. Brenda's first novel, The Art of Rebellion, was also inspired by her family history.
