Brokenness: a condition when someone or something is damaged and unable to continue or work properly.

Old wounds are hard to heal because they have become a part of your everyday life. You didn't wake up in this condition of brokenness, and it wasn't an instantaneous act thrust upon you, but rather, it occurred through a process of unconscious decisions, acceptations, and actions. If you're going to deal with brokenness, you can't nurse symptoms by covering the wound. You must peel off all the coverings and expose the deep wound of the heart. We all suffer from self-inflicted wounds, but we all may never recover because we refuse to see the true source of the problem.

As you read this book, prepare to have God's Word faithfully reveal the source of your wounding, the bitterness of your brokenness, and the ultimate healing of your soul.
