When reporter Andrew McKenzie wakes up in Gander, Newfoundland, after an emergency landing of a trans-Atlantic flight, he discovers that he is one of the few people onboard the flight who is still alive. During the subsequent investigation by the authorities, he realizes he is no longer being treated as a lucky survivor of the airline tragedy, but has now become the prime suspect in a terrorist attack.

With the assistance of his nurse from the Intensive Care Unit, he is determined to find out what really happened onboard that flight and the role the mysterious passenger in seat 14C played in the tragedy.
