Please come with us on a journey with a little boy named Maxje, "Dicky Kramer", or as we know home today as Max Cardozo, who was a boy living in Holland during World War II. Famine, deportation, and the eventual death of many of those he loved most in this world. These stories also reflect on times of great laughter and the greatest joy between himself, his parents, and some of his protector's families. That is the story of a child living underground in a time of hiding because of being a Jew during the Holocaust deemed necessary by the Nazi machine in Germany. While many Jews did not survive this time of great sorrow, Max Cardozo managed to stay alive with the help of his Dutch protectors, which came at a price for all those involved ... and this was my story Dickey Kramer 1945 liberation day May 1945.
