Hang Me Out to Dry is a book about relationships gone bad, and how they relate to washing clothes. Most people don't like washing or doing laundry but it's a necessary chore. It's a process, and so is relationships, partnerships and marriages. Gathering up clothes, sorting into piles of dark, colored, lights and whites, reading labels, washing cycles, adding softener, bleach and other things, hanging up, lying flat, drying, temperatures and so on... These days so are marriages, and relationships. It's a lot of work to make it work.

The story is told as if clothes are being washed, and how there's a lot of similarity in washing, how to wash, and how it relates to relationships.
