It's 1609 in southwest England, where witchcraft is prevalent in the villages and where folks regularly take advantage of the witches' healing powers. Always covertly, though; never talk about it; try not to be seen in their company lest you become tainted, tarnished or corrupted and ultimately suffer an agonising death by the fire or water. Some villagers recognised the witches' value and tried to support them; others though did their best to seek them out, often falsely accusing them of association with the Devil Himself, then wallowing in the sadistic enjoyment of the screams as the flames rose up. We think things have changed now, don't we? Maybe though, the forces of darkness are just biding their time, and we should be paying more attention!
