Hannalore seemed simple enough to read until she had to explain that she was usually called plain Hannah. She was plain and "skinny." She knew that most of the girls in her class wore "bras" or at least training "bras" because they wore tight sweaters to emphasize the outlines. However, Hannah seemed condemned to wear "undershirts" under her sweaters, and the top of the shirts always poked up around the top of whatever she wore!
