It seems that hate is everywhere these days-dangerous, blatant, ugly hate.

No one bothers to hide their animosity anymore. There's seemingly no shame in intolerance.

Instead, hate is on constant display-it's loudly proclaimed all over social media, bragged about in public venues, and flaunted in atrocities, mayhem, and unthinkable acts of violence. Hatred gave us the Holocaust, during which some six million Jews were tortured, starved, shot, suffocated, gassed, burned alive, and methodically annihilated. But Anti-Semitism and the hatred of Jews were already problems long before the Holocaust, and the situation has hardly improved since.

Swept Up in Hate looks at where this sort of volatile hostility comes from, why so much of it is directed toward Jews, the ways in which anti-Jewish discrimination manifests today, and what, if anything, we might be able to do about it.
