Everywhere he looked he saw soldiers engaged in brutal battles and charred ruins from recent bombing. Everywhere he turned, he saw the devastating effects of war - lost lives, injured soldiers, destroyed villages.

Mario felt helpless. He wanted to turn back, to leave this horrific scene, but he couldn't. He was here to fight, to help make a difference, even if the cause seemed hopeless.
