Sunshine Zoo explores the adventures of ten year old Beverly Trail who is recruited by her uncle to help get the zoo back into shape. Being the daughter of a world famous animal conservationist, Beverly must use her courage and spirit to overcome what obstacles lay in the way of rebuilding a zoo that is in desperate need of a good zookeeper—even if that zookeeper is only in grade school. Often dangerous and sometimes over the top, Beverly's adventures explore the passion of a child who will let nothing, and no one, get in the way of making Sunshine Zoo a world class zoo once again.

Sunshine Zoo #1 starts the series off with a roar, or rather a howl, as Beverly Trail must track down a mischievous howler monkey that is letting the other animals out of their cages.
