It is not surprising that our population has become a matter of serious concern at various levels in the Government. Our experts have come out with different strategies to achieve the target of population control. Some of them have spoken of social development. Others have expressed the view in favour of economic development. Still others feel that by raising the age at marriage, especially that of girls, fertility can be brought down.
