The Charlotte Sanders Private Investigator book series tracks the early career and personal life of a young woman who is determined to carve out a career as a forensic accountant and private investigator of commercial thefts and frauds on Australia's Gold Coast. Following her training as a CPA in Brisbane, Charlotte moves into an apartment in Southport on the Gold Coast. Charlotte is supported in her new career by her live-in boyfriend John with whom she has a sharing, supportive and sexually active relationship.
Charlotte's grandfather Thomas Sanders enables her to open her new professional practice by providing her with an office within his Main Beach accounting offices. This enables her to take on occasional audit management work to subsidise her investigative work. It also provides her with opportunities to work on thefts and frauds within the firm's client base.
Unlike classic homicides where the investigation begins with the murder victim, commercial frauds are often difficult to detect, hard to unravel and problematic to solve but they are Charlotte's passion. She gradually establishes her reputation as a competent and determined investigator.
The reader will enjoy the complexities of commercial theft and fraud investigations as well as the development of Charlotte's personal relationships with her partner John and her supportive family. The books can be read as stand alone books, they are best read in sequence.
Book One follows Charlotte and John's move to Southport, her first audit management project and her early commercial theft and fraud investigations which help to establish her reputation as a competent private investigator.
