Nolan has built strong relationships with his reliable dealer Carlos Vargas and the strip club, Tipsy Tervy. However, everything changes with the arrival of a new transfer from New York - Detective Jack Barnes. A no-nonsense narcotics detective, Jack sets out to take down a local high-profile detective turned drug lord, causing trouble for Pierce. But as Jack delves deeper into the case, he finds himself drawn to the city and its people, including a certain someone who captures his heart.
