ABOUT THE BOOK
Ford County, the imagined location of many of John Grisham's famous tales, is brought back to life in "Homecoming." Although Jake Brigance is back, the courtroom is not where he is. He is asked to assist an old buddy named Mack Stafford, a former lawyer in Clanton who three years ago made headlines when he stole money from his customers, filed for divorce, abandoned his family in the middle of the night, and disappeared without a trace until now. Now that Mack is returned, he is relying on Jake and Harry Rex, two of his old friends, to assist him. It does not go as planned for his homecoming.
Cody Wallace, a young death row inmate who is barely three hours away from being executed, is introduced to us in "Strawberry Moon." His attorneys are powerless to save him, the courts close the case, and the governor rejects a last-minute clemency request. Cody has one more thing he needs as time runs out.
