The particles had been travelling together throughout the Multiverse for billions of years. Their one purpose: to absorb data. But their accumulated knowledge made them vulnerable; for who wouldn't want control over every piece of information ever recorded - anywhere and at any time?

And so the pursuit had begun.

Self-aware, with the benefit of faster-than-light travel and the ability to manipulate materials at a molecular level, they'd managed to avoid the hunters.

So far.

And now, they were in a universe they hadn't visited before.
