Part 2 is a continuation of my community experience as a midwife for over 27 years in a multicultural area of West Yorkshire. The overt and covert Racism from clients and management was challenging, hurtful and disappointing. Unfortunately, this continued right up until I retired. My focus was on giving excellent Antenatal, Intranatal and Postnatal care to all regardless of race or ethnicity. During my career, I learnt how to handle discrimination, racism and bigotry with professionalism and a sense of humour. This book will hopefully help to educate my children, grandchildren and the Community that the colour of their skin is not a prison but should be used as a prism to break through the "perceived glass ceiling. I have enjoyed my career and this was reflected in my retirement celebration where I was able to thank most of my clients for allowing me to be part of their family. I could not have got through without my strong faith in God.
