It's official: Game of Thrones is over. But if you're planning a rewatch or getting ready to watch the show for the first time, use this as your guide.
Here's a full recap to an analysis of each Game of Thrones character's key facts, including an analysis of the most important moment from each episode. Now, this is one lens through which fans can examine everything as they make their way through Game of Thrones.
The Baratheons and Lannisters shared power at the start of season one since King Robert Baratheon was wed to Queen Cersei Lannister. But soon a problem developed. It was discovered that Cersei was having an affair with her twin brother Jaime Lannister and that Jaime was truly the father of all of Robert's alleged children, including his successor, Joffrey. Cersei orchestrated Robert's death and anointed Joffrey, a youngster, as king in order to prevent this from being revealed. His chief advisor is his grandfather Tywin Lannister, the legitimate king of Westeros, and his army is made entirely of Lannister soldiers.
Robert's younger brother, Stannis Baratheon, determined that the throne really belonged to him when he learned of Joffrey's real parents. The conflict between Stannis and the Lannisters, which resulted in a Lannister victory, was largely depicted in season two. The majority of the next seasons are subsequently spent by Stannis and the surviving Baratheons listening to a lady dressed as a witch who predicts their futures in fire. So far, this hasn't managed to help them reclaim the crown.
The Starks are another prominent family that were well-known to fans in season one before the majority of them were brutally killed. Eddard (Ned for short) Stark served as King Robert's primary counsel in season one. Although he learned the truth about Joffrey's parents, he was publically beheaded after losing his power war with the Lannisters. In seasons two and three, Robb, Ned's son, rebelled and went to war with the Lannisters. The Lannisters still had the advantage in the conflict, despite the fact that he won several individual engagements.
At the conclusion of season three, Robb's own men betrayed him, leading to the deaths of him, his mother Catelyn, and his expectant wife Talisa. The remaining Stark offspring are dispersed over the continent, either as captives or as fugitives, and the Starks have now practically lost all of their authority.
Yes, it is becoming more intriguing.
