Diane Phipps, P.I., returns to Briarbush Manor on the lavish Fitz estate near St. Louis for her first client, Stone Insurance. They still want proof whether their wealthy policyholder, missing adventurer Thurman Cole, is dead or alive. Diane encounters eccentricities and strained relationships, as Cole had racked up some unconscionable and questionable dealings. Diane is convinced foul play claimed his life. All she needs now is proof, or the case will go colder. But where is his body?
