The British Ladies Football Club – BLFC - was the first (!!) organised women's soccer club, playing matches to the Football Association rules and entertaining paying spectators. The BLFC's founding president was a leading suffragist and the team included the first woman footballer of colour. This concise e-book features two of the club's games played in the ancient city of Coventry in 1895. These two games played in Coventry were not stand-alone events, organised by the British Ladies' Football Club and its breakaway club. The two clubs are known to have played more than 160 games between them across the British Isles.
The book also gives background information of the early days of the BLFC, and later developments in the women's game.
