This book is read-along version. One day, Mary wakes up to the news that a terrible illness has killed her parents. It is decided that she should move from India to England—a country she has never been to before—to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven. Accompanied by Mr Craven's chief housekeeper, Mrs Medlock, Mary eventually arrives at her uncle's house. The house is huge and dark, with only a few lights in the windows. When Mary is taken to her cold, dark bedroom, she feels lonely and confused.
