Stephen C. Schlesinger is director of the World Policy Institute at the New School University in New York City. He worked for the United Nations in the mid-1990s and served as a speechwriter and foreign policy advisor to New York's governor Mario Cuomo for 12 years. He is a frequent contributor to magazines and newspapers, including The Washington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Nation, and The New York Observer.The title of his lecture is "The Untold Story of the Founding of the United Nations."
