Kate Pravera is Senior Fellow and Director of Professional Education at the Great Cities Institute, a unit of the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs, University of Illinois at Chicago. Chief architect of the Online Certificate in Nonprofit Management, Dr. Pravera brings more than 20 years experience in the design of educational programs for adult learners.

As Director of the UIC Online Certificate in Nonprofit Management, Dr. Pravera is also experienced in the day-to-day challenges of managing a nonprofit organization. Before joining the Great Cities Institute in 1998, she served as founding executive director of the Chicago Community Loan Fund for seven years. During that time, she established a growing portfolio of real estate loans serving nonprofit development organizations in low-income neighborhoods of metropolitan Chicago.
