Steven T. Ross, of the strategy department of the Naval War College, is a military analyst, historian, lecturer, author and instructor. He received his master's and doctorate degrees from Princeton University and remained as an instructor there for several years. He has worked with the Defense Intelligence Agency, was a scholar in residence with the CIA, and is now a visiting professor at Williams College. Ross is the author of eight books, numerous articles and reviews. As chairman of the civilian advisory board of the local Salvation Army, he was a volunteer in New York shortly after the attack on the World Trade Center. The title of his lecture is "The American Way of War: The Battle Against Terrorism."
