In July 1894, Sherlock Holmes goes to Dr. Watson's house because he is being followed and there they receive an eccentric visitor, the earl of Ducadia, who explains a serious problem regarding the distribution of an inheritance and the appearance of a supposed illegitimate brother.

This news has already appeared in the newspapers of Scandinavia and the European continent, in addition to the fact that this dispute is also in the court.

In principle, Sherlock Holmes indicates: "You may acknowledge having another brother and welcome him into your family, or seek almost absolute certainty to confirm or deny it". Watson is concerned, as it is almost impossible to prove that the claimant is an impostor, although Sherlock Holmes realizes that Irene Adler is involved in this extortion...
