An American POW returns home after the Vietnam War only to find that his life has changed drastically. He is now a single father of two. The family ranch that he grew up on is about to be sold to someone else and his career as an airline pilot is in jeopardy on account of recurring nightmares. An old high school and college rodeo team member and now a reporter enters the picture for the first time in years.
