Geoffrey Kurland is a pediatric pulmonologist at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and a professor of pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh. An extreme long distance runner, Kurland was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia in 1987. The title of his lecture is "My Own Medicine: Lessons Learned en Route to Remission."
