Blue Bill isn't like the other ducks around the pond; he has a blue bill, while all the other ducks around him do not. He knows what it feels like to be different and to have others reject you.
One day he sees two ducks with orange bills; they laugh at him because of his blue bill. Then he sees three pink worms who are all the same. As he sees more animals in various colors—green frogs, brown turtles, black ants, yellow butterflies, and gray squirrels—Blue Bill notices that they all look the same as their friends. He feels sad because he is different, so he travels to a new place. But soon he discovers that there are others who are different from most ducks, just like him. Now Blue Bill has a new friend!
This children's story teaches young readers the importance of accepting our differences no matter what others think while also introducing numbers, colors, and animals.
