Doris Meissner is senior fellow of the Migration Policy Institute, a Washington, D.C. think tank dedicated to the study of the movement of people worldwide. Previously, she served as the commissioner of the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, directing agency policy and operations from 1993 to 2000. The title of her lecture is "How Immigration is Making American a Universal Nation."
