This book explores the life and influences of Antonio de Nebrija, who became the most outstanding humanist from Spain in the late 15th century and early 16th century. He wrote two pioneering books on Latin and Spanish grammar and lexicography: "Introductiones latinae", and "Gramática de la lengua castellana" (Spanish grammar). These were the first grammar books published in Europe. Nebrija also published two dictionaries between Latin and Spanish, and vice versa. He was a poet, commented on literary works, and encouraged the study of classical languages and literature. His books were published many times, influencing the Spanish language in Spain and Spanish America.
