Detective Rage bites down on a piece of home-made peanut brittle. "Ouch, I think I chipped a tooth."
Patrolman Jones wants to play doctor, but Rage will have none of it but a quick inspection.
The next morning before starting time she is at work and calls her dentist, "Great I will be right in, say 10-minutes."
The dentist is called to the front office while inspecting her tooth and finds himself on the floor. A sawed-off shotgun is pointing at him. Rage is taken into the front office and the two robbers take all the paper files of every patient whose last name starts with a P or Q. The office staff and Rage are locked in a storage room. Getting out she calls the police, but the robbers are gone. They left all the electronic files for everyone and never touched them.

Rage gets her tooth fixed and goes back to work. Robbery has the case but little to go on. They recreate the paper files from the electronic backup and hit a stone wall. Rage goes to robbery but there are no leads from the files. They give her a copy of all the files from the backup but can find nothing of value. Rage sends a copy to Colonel Hill, and he uncovers some facts the police could never find.
Is this enough to solve the case? Why is an FBI think-tank interested in Chapter 11 bankrupt cases? Or is this a scam to tap the insurance company for money? Most interesting.
