Malachi wrote his Biblical book after the children of Israel had returned to the promised land and after they had rebuilt the temple of Jerusalem. Since the priests and others were living in sin, the Lord rebuked them. He would also bless those who remained faithful to Him.
Included in the book of Malachi are wonderful prophecies concerning John the Baptist and our Lord Jesus Christ.
