Many teachers report their greatest fear is their classroom getting out of control and noise levels escalating and impacting other classrooms.

If this is you, you know it is important to find ways to keep your student's attention focused on you and the lesson. There are many different attention getters that you can use in the classroom, but it can be tough to come up with new ideas all the time. That's why we've put together this list of 100 Call and Response phrases for teachers!

For example, the teacher will call out a phrase such as "Let's go!" or "Ready? Set? Go!" and then the students will respond with another phrase like "Go!" or "Here we go!" It is a great way to get your students energized and attentive before starting a lesson.

You can make up your own phrases or use ones popular in mainstream media. Using well known phrases from rhymes, popular movies, songs or TV shows can be the most successful with your students and help you manage the classroom.

We also include some techniques for getting attention when you enter the room and discuss how to gain the respect of new students and manage your classroom behaviour.
